Anya worked as a Research Assistant in the Mirzadeh Lab at the Ivy Brain Tumor Center at Barrow Neurological Institute, where she contributed to research on hypothalamic circuits that regulate metabolism and insulin sensitivity—work aimed at reversing type 2 diabetes through targeted brain interventions. In the lab, she conducted RNA/DNA quantitation, performed histological analysis of brain tissue, and collaborated with postdocs and senior scientists to support neural imaging and data interpretation. At Vanderbilt University, Anya is double majoring in Cognitive Studies and Psychology. She was recently accepted into the Honors Program in Psychology, where she will develop an original research project focused on neurocognition and behavior.
