a. Personal Information

To use Arrowz, you must create an account. We collect:

  • Name, email address, and authentication credentials via Firebase Authentication.
  • Any additional information you provide when contacting support, subscribing to newsletters, or participating in surveys.
b. Journal Entries & Emotional Data
  • Any text, symbols, or journal entries you input into the app.
  • Arrowz does not analyze or generate AI-driven insights based on your journal data.
c. Usage Data & Analytics
  • Interaction logs, such as session duration and features used.
  • Device information, including IP address, operating system, and browser type.
  • Cookies and tracking technologies (for website users only).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Arrowz experience.
  • Associate journal entries with your user profile.
  • Maintain security, prevent fraud, and ensure compliance with legal obligations.

Your journal entries remain private and are never sold or shared with third parties for advertising purposes.

3. Where Your Data Is Stored

User data is stored in two locations:

a. Local Database (On Your Device)
  • Journal entries are stored locally on the user’s device.
  • The local database is not encrypted.
b. Firebase (Cloud Storage)
  • Authentication Data: Managed through Firebase Authentication.
  • Journal Entries: Stored in Firestore, a Firebase NoSQL database.
  • Encryption in Firebase:
    • At Rest: Data is encrypted using AES-256 encryption.
    • In Transit: Data sent between the app and Firebase is secured via HTTPS (TLS encryption).

4. Data Security Measures

We prioritize security and implement the following safeguards:

  • Encryption in Firebase:
    • At Rest: Data is encrypted using AES-256 encryption.
    • In Transit: Data sent between the app and Firebase is secured via HTTPS (TLS encryption).
  • Authentication Security
    • Secure login is enforced using Firebase Authentication with robust password management.
  • Local Database
    • Note: Data stored locally on the user’s device is not encrypted.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

  • Journal Data Storage: Journal entries are stored indefinitely in both the local database and Firebase.
  • User Control: Users can delete individual journal entries or request full account deletion.
  • Data Deletion Policy:
    • When a user deletes a journal entry, it is permanently removed from both the local database and Firebase.
    • When a user deletes their account, all associated data, including journal entries, is permanently deleted.

6. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell or rent your data. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

  • With Service Providers: We rely on Firebase for authentication and secure data storage. Firebase operates under its own privacy policies, which can be reviewed here.
  • For Legal & Security Reasons: We may disclose user information if required by law, court orders, or to protect the rights of Arrowz and its users.

7. Third-Party Services

Arrowz relies on Firebase for authentication and cloud storage. Firebase operates independently, and its data handling policies can be reviewed in their privacy documentation.

8. Your Rights & Choices

You have the right to:

  • Access & Modify your personal data.
  • Delete Journal Entries at any time through the app.
  • Request Account Deletion, which removes all associated data permanently.
